What is Heart Light Studios?

This site is dedicated to my only Son, Kelly James Carmody who died in 1987 of a malignant brain tumor.  Since that day I have dedicated my life to serving the bereaved. This site was  created for those whom may find comfort from my book, my writings  my portraits, drawings, and or prints.

It is also place for processing your grief, asking questions about the journey, or just writing about your loved one, sharing their life and your loss.

This is a new format from my older site and easier for me to maintain directly; please have patience with the transition.

I welcome all comments via my email address and as always I am available for questions, and sharing of your  bereavement journey. We need not walk alone.

Thank you

Mitch Carmody

The Miracle of the Corn stalk.

After my son had died in 1987 I wrote him a letter asking him to give me a sign, by making something grow in our yard. Corn grew up in our lawn, it bore an ear that when opened I soon discovered that mold had stained the husk with three capital letters, the word DAD. If you have had any experiences of signs from our loved ones who have died please email me your stories and photos ( orbs, etc) that could be used in a future book.

This spring I was having a " Kelly Day "  and feeling sad and melancholy about his loss in my life, as I gazed out under the shade of the newly leafing tree...again I see the image of " Dad"  in the shadowy grass and oddly very similar the cornstalk image 20 years earlier. Love never dies.
