I have watched you from the side for almost 10 years now, where you work as a teacher and mentor for so many fortunate kids. You instill in them in their formative years a deep spirituality and a reverence for God in their lives. Not just teaching the gospel but living it and by example fortifying in their minds and hearts the glory of have having Jesus as a cornerstone in the foundation of their lives.

You Kathy G.make a positive difference in this world in our young people. That is hugely important, as our survival as a species on this planet can only be had by educating the next generation with compassion, knowledge, ideals, love and a deep faith in God. On or off the job thank you for who you are and what you do for so many others. Keep on letting your heartlight shine, let it shine wherever you may go.  It is a pleasure to call you my friend.

#2 Dear Cathy S.

We have known each other for quite a few years and it feels like we are siblings.  I first knew of you from reading your writings in the St.Paul Pioneer Press as Peachy, this wonderful compassionate women who after losing her daughter in a horrible auto accident reaches out to the bereaved on a regular basis, reaching thousands of homes with every article. This has gone on for years.

When I got involved with The Compassionate Friends in 2002 our paths started to cross. I have seen what you have done to maintain the St. Paul Chapter as a viable healthy organization for the bereaved parent in the Twin City area. I have seen your workshops and what you do for TCF as an active board member. I have seen you serve the bereaved worldwide on the internet. You are a hero to so many and to me. Carry on with your ministry that heals so many grieving hearts.  You are one of God’s special people that He uses to manifest his love on Earth, which is so obvious in your selfless service to the grieving heart for so many years. Kudos to you Sis, keep it up, your the best.

#3 Dear Pam S.

I have selected you to receive one of the first Heartlight Awards given.  I have known you for over thirty years and much has transpired in my life and much of it very challenging.  After Kelly was diagnosed with cancer you have never, ever left our side. Your were the rock of our support system, the friend that would do anything, the friend that would listen, the friend who stepped up to the plate and made things happen, the friend who would cry with us and hold us up when we did not want to carry on.  The friend that early on knew we were changed people for life and honored that change with steadfast friendship, patience and a whole lot of tolerance.

You are a carrier of the light, your heartlight kept ours aflame when it threatened to go out.  I will always hold you deeply in my heart as a savior in my life and thank you for reminding me how important it is that we laugh in the midst of our pain.  You are a saint in my book of life, right up there at the top of the list. You were there for us, you were there for Kay Lindahl, and Mr. Chapman, many others and you are still there for so many young people grieving the losses in their lives and giving them tools to survive. You are many things to many lives; the world is a better place because you are in it. Thank you.

 Feel free to copy the award cards and give to as many people that you want to recognize, I only suggested three people as a starting point and have included 12 cards for your use and or to pass on.  At some point someone will need to make copies to keep the awards continuing ad infinitum. With this letter and the included cards there is a full sheet of 4 cards which can be photo copied then cut up for use for future others.  I look forward to reading the stories of more light carriers be sure to send replies and award recipient statements to heartlightstudio@aol.com.
